Updated over a week ago

This resource provides answers to frequently asked questions about the learning modules available within the MTSS Learning Hub.

What learning modules are available in the MTSS Learning Hub?

There are several learning modules available in the MTSS Learning Hub. There are three courses that are recommended learning for anyone engaging in the implementation of Branching Minds:

  • Branching Minds Platform Orientation

  • The Teacher Role in Branching Minds

  • The Manager Role in Branching Minds

It is also highly recommended that educators new to MTSS complete the Basics of MTSS course.

Over time, you can expect to see learning modules focused on maximizing key features of the Branching Minds platform, as well as interpreting and using data from Branching Minds reports.

View the entire course catalog for additional details.

How long does it take to complete a learning module?

Each learning module is designed to take no more than 45 minutes to complete, though it may take some individuals longer than others.

What is included in a learning module?

Each course includes a description, learning outcomes, a list of recommended teams, as well as a series of lessons. Every course includes at least one video and one culminating activity. Many courses follow a case study approach in which a group of educators and their use of specific platform features and/or MTSS practices are highlighted.

How can I learn about the skills I'm developing?

Each course helps educators to hone their skills in different areas, including data interpretation, data collection, intervention, data-based decision-making, systems thinking, teacher collaboration, use of the platform, and many more. Educators can select the Learning option from the horizontal menu, followed by the Learning Dashboard option to better understand the skills they’re developing.

What learning modules will be added to the MTSS Learning Hub over time?

We currently have a backlog of several different learning modules that we will develop over time.

When do I need to complete each learning module?

While there are generally no due dates within the MTSS Learning Hub, your district or school leadership may set internal due dates for completing specific learning modules. Please communicate with them to determine timing for completion of learning modules.

Is completion of specific learning modules required?

While there are generally no requirements for completing specific learning modules, Branching Minds highly encourages all individuals to complete, at a minimum, the following modules:

  • Branching Minds Platform Orientation and

  • The Teacher Role in Branching Minds or The Manager Role in Branching Minds.

Completing these learning modules will ensure that you have a positive experience with using the Branching Minds platform to support students and improve outcomes.

District or school leadership may set internal requirements for completing specific learning modules. Please communicate with them to determine which learning modules are required.

What is the recommended sequence of learning modules?

Educators, particularly classroom and content area teachers, typically start using Branching Minds for the first time after universal screening data has been collected. Educators learn best when information is timely and can support their practice immediately, so waiting until after the universal screening window is complete is ideal.

Branching Minds highly encourages educators to complete, at a minimum, the following modules before beginning any others:

  1. Branching Minds Platform Orientation and

  2. The Teacher Role in Branching Minds or The Manager Role in Branching Minds

It is highly recommended that all educators, though especially those new to MTSS, also complete the Basics of MTSS course.
